The Chamber of Commerce has agreed with the ÖGB sub-unions Vida and GPA on wage increases for the rising numbers at Austrian commercial airports. Retroactive to January 1, 2023, there is initially 5.6 percent more money.
As of May 1, 2023, all wage and salary components (including allowances) will be increased by a further 11.8 percent. There is also a compound interest effect. Together, this represents an increase of 18.06 percent compared to last year. The gross income for newcomers is now between EUR 2,343.55 and EUR 2,525.26 per month. Income from apprentices will increase by up to 45 percent compared to January 1, 2023. The KV degree is valid for 12 months.
« The KV degree is absolutely impressive and is a sign of appreciation for the extraordinarily good performance of the first. Also due to the high inflation, the conclusion was a necessary step to secure the income level at the airport,” agree the KV negotiators from Vida and GPA, David John and Thomas Schäffer.
« This year’s KV negotiations were still marked by the effects of the COVID-19 crisis, » commented WKÖ Aviation Chairman Günther Ofner on the agreement reached. At the same time, Ofner clearly states: “With this deal, which is unfortunately very turbulent for the company, the special burdens during the COVID crisis and the successfully managed restart in aviation are also recognised. This will significantly increase the attractiveness of jobs in aviation.”
