The responsible regional government has announced subsidies for the start of selected routes from Mostar Airport in Bosnia. Skyalps also took part in the tender and were awarded the contract.
According to Mostar Airport, it is planned that the South Tyrolean regional carrier will start flights to Verona, Rome, Bari and Munich. These Solens are operated by de Havilland Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. According to reports, there was little interest in the PSO subsidies, as only Skyalps is said to have applied for the routes mentioned. Mostar Airport stated, among other things, that it was pleased that Skyalps fulfilled all the conditions of the tender “and submitted a very attractive offer for the addition of these routes”.
The flight plan will be announced in the next few days. Shortly thereafter, the sale of airline tickets will begin. It is currently not known when the first flight will take place, but it should be this year. Skyalps could possibly soon be active in Austria from Vienna and Linz. In Germany, the carrier is planning to connect Bozen and Friedrichshafen with Frankfurt am Main. Neither Lufthansa nor Austrian Airlines wanted to confirm a collaboration that was announced by company boss Josef Gostner in an interview.
